Abstract
Purpose: The objectives of this study are to examine the effects of balance taping on dysmenorrhea in clinical
nurses.

Method: Clinical nurses were informed about a balance taping by an investigator who was trained with a 1-day education about it. On the date of menstrual onset, a balance taping was applied to clinical nurses. Prior to the application of balance taping, one hour after it, four hours after it, eight hours after it, 12 hours after it and 24 hours after it, scores indicating dysmenorrhea were measured.

Result: Following the application of balance taping, changes in dysmenorrhea were evaluated. According to this, scores indicating dysmenorrhea were 6.57 prior to the application of balance taping, 4.74 at one hour after it, 3.93 at four hours after it, 3.50 at eight hours after it, 2.98 at 12 hours after it and 2.50 at 24 hours after it. These results indicate that scores indicating dysmenorrhea were gradually decreased with time to a statistically significant extent(p=.000).
Conclusion: Balance taping is effective in reducing dysmenorrheal in clinical nurses.
